Come talk with us! We’d love to hear your comments and suggestions. Supportive or critical , it doesn’t matter. Let’s work together to find out what works and what may need changing. Ask how you can participate, after all it’s all about making our community safe and interesting to live in.

The Beacon Heights Community League’s Board of Directors is a relatively small team of dedicated people with big hearts and a great deal of community pride. Many of our Directors have been juggling multiple portfolios for some time. If we seem a little eager to pounce on new people showing interest…we are! At our AGM on April 19, 2016 our members elected the Board of Directors for 2016/2017. We welcome with open arms, and plenty of work to be done, our new incoming and returning Directors and thank outgoing Directors for their time, dedication and continued support and friendship.

Although we still have a number of vacant positions, I expect we will continue to contribute to making Abbottsfield, Bergman and Beacon Heights neighbourhoods a better place to live. If you call these neighbourhoods home we encourage you to jump in and become part of the team. If holding a formal position is not your thing, not to worry, we have plenty of ways we can put you to work with whatever time you can spare.

I am so grateful and proud of the passionate people, working tirelessly to make this community a great place to live–I am proud to call you my neighbours and friends, and I look forward to the amazing things to come.

As the 2016 National Volunteer Week campaign pointed out “volunteers are the roots of strong communities. Just like the roots are essential for trees to bloom, volunteers are essential for communities to boom. Thanks to volunteers, our communities grow strong and resilient. Even the tiniest volunteer effort leaves a profound and lasting trace in a community, much like tree rings that appear over time.”
