 Health Basics course:

Practice making small steps that lead to big changes in a fun and interactive setting. Learn to choose healthy eating, become more active and find balance in your life.

This free 8-week course runs from 3 May – 21 June on Wednesdays between 6:30-8:30PM. Courses take place at Beacon Heights Community League located at Jubilee Park (12037-43 St) and are run by the Primary Health Network.

 Spring Green Shack

Beacon Heights will be hosting a Spring Green shack program from April 2-April 26.  The program will be running Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-6:00, and Sundays from 1:00-4:00.  The program is geared towards 6-12 year olds, however you are more than welcome to join in on the program.

Abundant Communities Edmonton has been developing in several communities throughout Edmonton – and other cities around Alberta, Canada, US and beyond are starting to pay attention!  We believe this is an opportunity create opportunities of friendliness, lower isolation, and enhance neighbourliness.  We know we want that in Beacon Heights!  We are looking for people who are interested in getting to know the neighbours on their block.  You will not be working alone – especially if knocking on a door intimidates you!  There can be more than one block connector on a block, and in multi-story apartment buildings, we are looking for connectors in each building.  Let’s build a better community!

Newton Seniors Club

Beacon members are welcome to join the Newton Seniors Club.  Meetings are held every month on the second Thursday at 11:00 am at Newton Hall – 5520- 121 Avenue. We have guest speakers relating to Senior topics and happenings in the area. Our birthday club celebrates members birthdays every month. We are planning some trips in the summer as well as some concerts.

Come visit with your neighbours on Tuesday mornings. 9:30-11:30 at the Jubilee Park rink shack.  Sit on leather couches, sip coffee and connect with community while your kids enjoy the toys and tv.

Community Swimming

Swimming is free for Beacon Heights Community League Members is on Saturdays from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Clareview Recreation Centre. Just show your Community League membership card and your family will have access to the entire facility with your wrist band.
